Terms of use
Athenaeum terms of use
Effective October 10, 2026. These terms cover the Athenaeum app and this website.
Who publishes Athenaeum
These terms cover your use of the Athenaeum app and this website, published by Joao Vitor Humenhuk Achutti, the sole trader named above. Apple's Standard EULA also applies to the app.
Using Athenaeum
Athenaeum is a reading app with 20 classic works and an atlas of the ancient Greek world. Its plain English versions are unreviewed drafts, so rely on the original text where accuracy matters.
Use it lawfully and only add content you have the right to use.
Free and paid use
The atlas, its connections, the Athens journey and the first original reading of every book at no cost. Athenaeum Membership is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. The App Store shows the price before you buy, and Apple handles payment.
Subscriptions
Payment is charged to your Apple Account. A subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel it. Where a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
Your content
What you put into Athenaeum is yours. The publisher claims no rights over it. The privacy policy explains where it is stored.
Refunds
Purchases are made through Apple, and Apple handles refunds under the App Store's terms. Write to athenaeum@humenhuk.com if something has gone wrong and we will help where we can.
Liability
Athenaeum is provided as it is. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, liability is limited to the amount you have paid for Athenaeum in the twelve months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Israel, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory protections where you live.
Changes
Material changes will be dated here and will respect purchases you have already made.
